Brown pigmentations, like age spots (lentigo simplex) on the face or hands, or senile warts (seborrhoeic keratosis) can be removed with CO2 laser in a single treatment session. The treatment is carried out under local anaesthesia. The treated area develops a small scale that heals in 3 to 5 days. The skin redness can easily be covered with make-up after about 1 week. It resolves after 2 to 4 months.

You skin should be tanned as little as possible before the treatment. After the treatment, sun exposure must be avoided for about 2 months. Patients who have a tendency to develop herpes blisters must undergo herpes prophylaxis. Sauna and physical exercise that increases the blood flow to the skin (such as long-distance running) should be avoided for 4 weeks after laser treatments of extensive areas.
